About Us

Margaret Jamieson, Owner, Aquatics Director & Fitness Instructor
Having grown up on a farm in the Zephyr/Mt. Albert area, I have always loved living in the country surrounded by open fields and regional forests where I share my love of the outdoors with my husband, my two college-age children, and my dog Jenna.
I work full-time as a Swimming Instructor/Lifeguard/Swim Team Coach for the Toronto District School Board and I have had the pleasure of teaching for over 40 years. Locally, I have been an Instructor for the Newmarket Running Room, coaching and running clinics for 5 km/10 km and Half Marathon Distances.
When I am not at the pool, you can find me at Strata Internal Performance, a private personal training studio where I work as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor or at my cottage in Haliburton out on the lake canoeing, swimming or simply relaxing on the dock reading a good book or laughing with friends!

My name is Avery, and I am from Uxbridge, Ontario. I am certified in my Red Cross Swim Instructors, Standard First Aid with CPR, as well as my National Lifeguard. I was a competitive swimmer, and that is where I found my love for the water.
During the summer, I have been teaching swim lessons for three years in Claremont, Ontario. Next fall, I am attending university for physical education/fitness and health. I love sports and the outdoors. I have been a competitive runner for five years with the Greater Uxbridge Road Runners.
I am looking forward to my summer at Marg's Swim School, and I am excited to have a fun and successful year of swimming. See you at the pool!

Lily Wilson, Red Cross Swimming Instructor, Standard First Aid and CPR-C
Hello! My name is Lily Wilson.
I have spent two awesome summers teaching with Marg’s Swim School. I hold many Certifications including, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, National Lifeguard, Standard First Aid, and CPR-C.
I am in my second year of Engineering at McMaster University, and I am a very proud member of the McMaster Women’s Rugby team. Go, Marauders! In my spare time, I love to ski, waterski or play other sports like basketball and soccer.
I am proud of the impact Marg’s Swim School has on its students - - whether it be an advanced student perfecting a stroke they struggled with or an anxious swimmer facing their fears. Making that big jump into the pool and doing the whole thing with a big smile on their face has brought me back each summer to Marg’s Swim School. The children that I teach always amaze me, and I am very excited to see their progress and growth this upcoming year.
I look forward to sharing these journeys with all the families we see this summer! See you soon!
